D-Link

Firstly I have been annoyed with my D-Link router since I bought it. I wouldnt buy one again.

My problem is that Canterbury telephone exchange is being unbundled, meaning I can get 24Mbps connection to the interweb. So I need my router being made capable of ADSL2+, a firmware upgrade surely? I thought that I would email their support to check. Can I find an email address, no.

It really annoys me when companies do that. Please phone our premium help line or use the FAQ section. I just want to email you a quick question…. BASTARDS!

Yeah, don’t get me started on bloody BT.
We mysteriously became unable to log in last night and I was on the phone for two hours at premium rate talking to some chick in New Delhi who obviously didn’t have the faintest idea what my problem was.
In the end she made me change the micro-filter and promised to call back.
    She never did
So, looks like I’ll be on the phone again tonight
    Quelle joie

Go netgear all the way, no point skimping for routers - it will only make you want to throw it out the window… plus they actually have a support staff budget ;)

I completely agree. I originally had a netgear. I just cant justify to buy a new one whilst it still works. Netgear actually seem to be doing some really good stuff with their products atm.
